Our organisation is dedicated to empowering and supporting Black, Asian, and minority ethnic (BAME) communities in Nottingham. These communities often face ongoing prejudice and their needs are frequently overlooked. Our efforts focus on combating discrimination and providing these communities with the tools, skills, and opportunities they need to actively participate in the broader community. This includes offering skills training and support to new migrants and refugees, helping them integrate into life in the UK.
Additionally, we play an active role in campaigns to end female genital mutilation (FGM). Through media training and employment opportunities, we equip girls and women over 18 years old to become their own “Community Champions,” advocating for issues that impact them. Notably, Nottingham took a strong stance against FGM in 2016, serving as a model for other cities in the UK and internationally.
